Intimations Sunday 29th October Rorison

A warm welcome is extended to any visitors to our service today. Soup, Tea and coffee will be served here in the small hall after the service and you are invited to join us for a short time of fellowship together.

Our Girls Brigade will meet tomorrow night here in Rorison

Focus will meet here on Thursday when the speaker will be Mr Colin Ogilvie. Colin conducted our service on the 15th October at Dalserf.

Our Boys Brigade will meet on Thursday night here in Rorison

Christmas is not far away and it is time again to think of those less fortunate than ourselves so we will be doing the shoe boxes appeal again this year. If you fill a box then please bring to Rorison next Sunday. If possible can an envelope with £3.00 be placed inside the box, this is to cover the cost of postage. Many thanks.

The Sacrament of the Lord’s Supper will be observed here in Rorison next Sunday at 11.30am.

There will be a retiring offering for the Poppy Fund and RAF Benevolent Fund next Sunday 5th November and also the following Sunday 12th November

Crossford Church are having a “Night to Remember” on Saturday 11th November at 7pm.

Sunday 12th November Service at the Cenotaph in Netherburn at 11am and then at the Cenotaph in Ashgill at 11.15am followed by Remembrance Day service in Rorison at 11.30am.

DATES AND ARRANGEMENTS FOR INTERIOR PAINTING OF DALSERF

Painters started work in the Church on Tuesday 24th October. When painters are finished a professional cleaning company will clean the Church. It is hoped to restore the contents of the Church on Monday 13th November and to be back in Dalserf for worship on Sunday 19th November.

There are welcome cards at the end of the pews. If you are a visitor please fill in one of these and place it in the offering plate. Soup, Tea and coffee will be served in Hamilton Hall after the service and you are invited to join us for a short time of fellowship together.
Please remember that there will be no services here in Dalserf for the next three Sundays.

There will be a short Session Meeting immediately after the morning Service

Bible study will not meet tomorrow due to Hamilton Hall being used to house the Church contents.

Our Girls Brigade will meet tomorrow night in Rorison

Our Guild will meet on Wednesday in Rorison when the speaker will be from Crossreach.

Our Boys Brigade will meet on Thursday night in Rorison

The Nursing homes will be visited on Friday. Clinton House at 1.45pm, Ballantine Court Unit one at 2.15pm and Unit two at 2.45pm.
Rorison will have to be set up on Friday for the first service on 29th October. If you can help with this please be at Rorison for around 3.30pm on the 27th October.

The Annual Subscription for Every Day with Jesus is due today. This is £16.95.

Valerie Holmes is now home from hospital. Our thoughts and prayers continue to be with her and John Grove. John will reach the wonderful age of 90 on Thursday 26th October. Kay has made him a beautiful card and it has been sent from the Congregation of Dalserf with our love and congratulations.

Cost is £5.00. There will be a poster concerning this on the notice board.

If you are available tomorrow morning around 9am your help would be greatly appreciated in clearing the church for the decorators to begin on Tuesday.

Harvest Lunch.
Thanks to another generous donation we are delighted to report the final total raised for St. Andrew’s Hospice is £1000.00. We hope to present this to the Hospice at a morning Service after the painting of Dalserf is finished.

Restoring of the Church contents possibly Monday 13th November again at 9am. Tea and coffee will again be provided in Hamilton Hall.

It is hoped to be back in Dalserf on Sunday 19th November but this will depend on how long the painting and cleaning takes.

Our Harvest Lunch took place yesterday this was a great success and raised the magnificent sum of £868.00. A lot of people put in a great deal of hard work, whether it was cooking, serving, washing dishes and generally lending a hand. The money raised will go to St Andrew’s Hospice. Once again grateful thanks to everyone.

The Annual Subscription for Every Day with Jesus. Contrary to the information I was given the annual subscription is £16.95. This is the first price increase for several years. Thank you for your understanding and co-operation.

It is with great sadness we have to intimate the death of Jim Hughes on Wednesday 11th October. Our thoughts and prayers are with his wife Joyce and the family. There are no funeral arrangements as yet.

Items for the November newsletter must be in the hands of the Editor by today.

I would like to say a big thank you to everyone who baked for the McMillan coffee morning at Dalserf Primary also thank you to everyone who came along and supported this event. We made the fantastic sum of £310.00.
Also thank you to all those who baked and supported Dalserf schools Autumn Fayre on the 17th September, it was a great success and brought in the fantastic sum or £749.13 which will be used for the good of the school.

There are welcome cards at the end of the pews. If you are a visitor please fill in one of these and place it in the offering plate. Tea and coffee will be served in Hamilton Hall after the service and you are invited to join us for a short time of fellowship together. Our Pathfinders will be taking part in the service today. There will be a Harvest service in Rorison today at 2.30pm. All of this produce has to be delivered to the Food bank and the local Nursing Homes tomorrow. If you can help with this please be here in the Church tomorrow around 10am.

Bible study will meet tomorrow in Hamilton Hall at 11am.

Our Girls Brigade will meet tomorrow night in Rorison.

There will be a Kirk Session meeting on Tuesday night in Rorison at the earlier time of 7pm.

Our Guild will meet on Wednesday night in Rorison when the speaker will be Glickman’s Sweets. This will be an open night.

Our Boys Brigade will meet on Thursday night in Rorison.

Our Harvest Lunch will take place in Hamilton Hall on Saturday 12.45pm for 1pm. A three course lunch will be served and the money raised will go to St Andrew’s Hospice. There are still some tickets available cost £10.00 if you would like to go please speak to Kay.

Also on Saturday evening at 7.30pm in St Machan’s Church Larkhall, the Praise band will be performing. The concert will also feature performers from the Youth Theatre Company Shine. Tickets are £5.00 and are available at the door.

There will be no Kids Alive meeting at Dalserf or Netherburn Primary Schools until further notice. Please continue to remember Brian Lowry and his wife Sarah in your prayers.
