Intimations Sunday 4th November Communion

A warm welcome is extended to any visitors to our Communion service today. Soup, tea and coffee will be served in Hamilton Hall after the service and you are invited to join us for a short time of fellowship together. There will be a retiring offering after this service for the Earl Haig Fund.

Bible study will meet in Hamilton Hall tomorrow at 11am.
House Group will meet tomorrow at 1.30pm.

Our Girls Brigade will meet tomorrow night in Rorison

St Machan’s Church Men’s Club are having a St Andrew’s Night Concert tomorrow at 7.30pm. Tickets are £5.00 and include refreshments.

The Gathering will meet in Hamilton Hall on Tuesday at 12.30. Soup, tea and biscuits will be served. Please bring along any other snacks you may require.

There will be a Kirk Session meeting in Rorison on Wednesday at 7.30pm.

On Thursday Stonehouse Jubilee Club are having a Community Open Day to commemorate 100 years since the end of WW1. Time is 1.30pm – 3.30pm Place is Stonehouse Lifestyle Centre. There will be Live Music, Tombola, Book Stall, Raffle, Nearly-new Clothes Stand, Tea and cake. The Jubilee Jammers will be present playing some old songs. Funds raised will go to support Stonehouse Men’s Shed. Cost for Non Members is £3.00 and this includes refreshments. On Thursday 8th November Calvary Christian Fellowship in Muir Street Motherwell is hosting the film “Tortured for Christ” Time is 7.30pm Admission is free. More information can be found from the Poster on the Church notice board.

Next Sunday is Remembrance Sunday. Services will take place at Netherburn Cenotaph at 10.45am Ashgill Cenotaph at 11am and then at Dalserf Church at 11.30am. There will be a retiring offering after the service going to the Earl Haig Fund.

Payment is now due for the Bible reading notes “Every Day with Jesus” this is £17.00. Can you please place your payment in an envelope with your name and give to Kay Blair (Ann is visiting her niece) as soon as possible

Focus will meet on Thursday in Rorison at 1.45pm when the speaker will be Jean Dawson

Lanarkshire Supporter Group are having a Soup and Dumpling lunch at the Bowling Pavilion in Hamilton on Saturday from 1 – 3pm. Tickets are £8.00 and are available from Rae Hunter or Lorna Brodie. This is on behalf of the SSPCA.

Next Sunday here in Dalserf the Sacrament of the Lord’s Supper will be celebrated at 11.30am and then at Rorison at 2.30pm. There will be a retiring offering after both services for the Earl Haig Fund.

Our Guild met on Wednesday and we had a lovely evening hearing about Robert Burns and his wife Jean Armour. The usual tasty supper was served and we also acquired two new members Mr & Mrs Robert Clarkson, giving Dalserf Guild their first male member. Come on gentlemen.

Mary Grove has had another bad fall injuring her elbow and her wrist. Please keep Mary in your thoughts and prayers.

Bible study will meet in the Sanctuary at Rorison tomorrow at 11am.

Our Girls Brigade will meet tomorrow night in Rorison.

The Gathering will meet on Tuesday at 12.30 at the home of Sheena and Bruce Archibald in Kirkfieldbank.

There will be a service of Thanksgiving in Trinity Church Larkhall on Wednesday at 1.30pm.
This is for all the support that has been received by the Foodbank in the five years that it has been in operation. Tea, coffee and home baking will be served in the hall afterwards.

Our Guild will meet on Wednesday night in Rorison when the speaker will be Jane Brown, retired Licensee of the Globe Inn Dumfries. Jane will speak on her life with Robert burns and her admiration for Jean Armour. Visitors to this evening, as always, will be made most welcome.

All Shoe Boxes must be in the Church by next Sunday 28th October. Any small cash donations towards posting of the boxes will be most welcome and can be given to Kay.

Congratulations Philip Fox
Yesterday at a meeting of the Scott6ish Huntington’s Assocition our Organist Philip fox stood down after 18 years voluntary service to the board of the Huntington’s Association in Scotland 12 od which he served as Chairman. Philip will be missed by his colleagues and we wish him well along with our congratulations as he no doubt takes on other projects. Well done Philip for you faithful association with the Huntington’s Society.

At our Guild on 24th October Jane Brown, retired licensee of the Globe Inn Dumfries and Past President of the Robert Burns World Federation, will speak on her life with Robert Burns and her love of Jean Armour.
Visitors would be made most welcome.

Andrew Gilmour is still unwell and we would ask you to keep him in your prayers.

There will be a Service of Thanksgiving on Wednesday 24th October at 1.30pm in Trinity Church Larkhall This is for all the support that has been received by the Foodbank in the five years that it has been in operation. Tea, coffee and home baking will be served in the hall afterwards. If you are interested in attending this service, please let me know as they wish to have an idea of the number of people for catering purposes. Also the Foodbank Management Team are looking for volunteers to cover the Foodbank when it is open on Tuesdays 10.30am – 1.30pm and on Fridays 10.30am – 2.30pm. If you are interested in finding out more please call 07591 104027.

Foodbank: Thank you to the congregation of Dalserf for your harvest gifts this year which are very much appreciated and the Kirk Session for choosing the food bank as the recipients of the Harvest Gifts.

The next meeting of the Gathering will be on Tuesday 23rd October at the home of Sheena and Bruce Archibald in Kirkfieldbank at 12.30.

It is time for the Shoe Box Appeal again. The boxes have to be here in the Church for Sunday 28th October as the pickup is Friday 2nd November at 12 noon at Chalmers Church.
If you are filling a box can you please collect instructions from Kay. Any small cash donations towards transportation of the boxes will be most welcome and can be given to Kay.

Anyone interested in knitting a teddy for Police Scotland Trauma Teddies Appeal can get a pattern from Kay.

A warm welcome is extended to any visitors to our Harvest service today. Soup tea and coffee will be served in Hamilton Hall after the service and you are invited to join us for a short time of fellowship together.

We have to deliver the Harvest produce to the Foodbank on Tuesday at 10.30am. We need a couple of extra pairs of hands for this here in the church around 10.00am. This is a change to last week’s intimations. The Foodbank is not available on the Monday.
