Call to Worship

CH4 498
Angel voices ever singing
round your throne of light,
angels’ music ever ringing
rests not day nor night;
thousands only live to bless you
and confess you Lord of might.

Lord, we know your heart rejoices
in each work divine,
you did ears and hand and voices
for your praise design;
craftsman’s art and music’s measure
for your pleasure all combine.

In your house our gifts we offer
from your love so free
and for your acceptance proffer
all unworthily,
hearts and minds and hands and voices
in our choicest psalmody.

Humour, glory, might and merit
Yours shall ever be,
Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
Blesssed Trinity
Earth and heaven join in praises – Voices raising joyfully

SCRIPTURE READING

Hebrews Ch 10 : 1-14 Prim Gilmour

CH4 738
Glorious things of thee are spoken,
Zion, city of our God;
He whose word cannot be broken
formed Thee for His own abode;
on the Rock of Ages founded,
what can shake Thy sure repose?
With salvation’s walls surrounded,
Thou mayest smile at all Thy foes.

See! the streams of living waters,
springing from eternal love,
well supply Thy sons and daughters
and all fear of want remove.
Who can faint, when such a river
ever flows their thirst to assuage?
Grace which, like the Lord, the Giver,
never fails from age to age.

Saviour, if of Zion’s city,
I through grace a member am,
let the world deride or pity,
I will glory in thy Name.
Fading is the worldling’s pleasure,
all his boasted pomp and show;
solid joys and lasting treasure
none but Zion’s children know.

Prayer of Intercession

CH4 543

Longing for light, we wait in darkness
Longing for truth, we turn to You.
Make us Your own, Your holy people
Light for the world to see.

Refrain -Christ, be our light!
Shine in our hearts.
Shine through the darkness.
Christ, be our light!
Shine in Your church gathered today.

Longing for peace, our world is troubled
Longing for hope, many despair.
Your word alone has pow’r to save us.
Make us your living voice – Refrain

Longing for food, many are hungry
Longing for water, many still thirst.
Make us Your bread, broken for others
Shared until all are fed – Refrain

Longing for shelter, many are homeless
Longing for warmth, many are cold.
Make us Your building, sheltering others
Walls made of living stone – Refrain

Many the gift, many the people
Many the hearts that yearn to belong.
Let us be servants to one another
Making Your kingdom come – Refrain

SERMON

A Wedding Disaster Averted

Offering and Prayer of Dedication

CH4 760
When we walk with the Lord in the light of his Word
What a glory He sheds on our way!
While we do His good will, He abides with us still,
And with all who will trust and obey.

Refrain -Trust and obey, for there’s no other way
To be happy in Jesus, but to trust and obey.

Not a shadow can rise, not a cloud in the skies,
But his smile quickly drives it away;
Not a doubt or a fear, not a sigh nor a tear,
Can abide while we trust and obey. Refrain

Not a burden we bear, not a sorrow we share,
But our toil He doth richly repay;
Not a grief nor a loss, not a frown or a cross,
But is blest if we trust and obey – Refrain

But we never can prove the delights of His love
Until all on the altar we lay;
For the favour He shows, and the joy He bestows,
Are for them who will trust and obey –
Refrain

Then in fellowship sweet we will sit at his feet,
Or we will walk by his side in the way;
What he says we will do, where he sends we will go,
Never fear, only trust and obey – Refrain

A warm welcome is extended to all joining us for Worship this morning.

Our Service this morning will be brought to us by Rev Cameron McPherson and it is wonderful to welcome you back to Dalserf.

Please pay particular attention to the signage in the hall and the toilets. If we respect the Church of Scotland Guidelines we should be able to safely enjoy each other’s fellowship.

GUIDLEINES FOR PLACES OF WORSHIP
Scottish Government and Church of Scotland guidance for places of worship during the present Pandemic.

These can be found on both the Government Web Site and the Church of Scotland Covid advice site.

Main points for us are
• Face coverings must be worn at all times in the church buildings.
• Face coverings may be removed to read the Lesson, make announcements and deliver the Sermon. However they should be replaced to move from one area to another.
• Congregations are strongly advised to take care in mingling and close proximity to others and as such should try to maintain a degree of distancing whilst in the buildings.
• Guidelines exist for notifying authorities of positive tests following a church meeting.

Let’s do all we can to protect each other by respecting the virus, being vigilant and holding each other in prayer.
