Intimations Sunday 9th December

A warm welcome is extended to any visitors to our service today. Soup, tea and coffee will be served in Hamilton Hall after the service and you are invited to join us for a short time of fellowship together. There will be a Carol Service here in Dalserf this evening at 7pm. This will feature the New Life Singers and the choirs from the two primary schools Dalserf and Netherburn. Money raised will go to The Scottish Huntington Association. The evening will be followed by refreshments in Hamilton Hall.

Bible study will meet in Hamilton Hall tomorrow at 11am.

There will be a Christmas Cheer Afternoon tomorrow in Kirkfieldbank Church Hall from 2p– 4pm. Admission is free. There will be Christmas Crafts, home baking, Music, Carols. Tea and coffee will be served.

Our Girls Brigade will meet tomorrow night in Rorison

On Wednesday in Rorison at 7.15pm. Our Guild will have their Annual Christmas Concert. The entertainment will again be provided by Kenny Mason and Friends. A delicious supper will be served. Please come along and support us and enjoy a lovely start to the Christmas Festivities.

Next Sunday the 16th December is our Gift Service. You are asked to bring along a gift for under the tree. Please place the gift in a Christmas bag instead of wrapping paper. This makes it easier for the Social Work Dept to check each gift. Also mark who the gift is suitable for and age group.

The Sacrament of Baptism will also take place at the service next Sunday.

Next Sunday afternoon 16th December at 3pm there will be Carols in the Park behind Crossford Village Hall at 3pm. Featuring Caroline Telfer fresh from her leading Role as “Truly Scrumptious” in Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. Followed by Hot drinks and Mince Pies in the village Hall. There will also be a special Seasonal Guest Appearance

Our Christmas Appeal begins today. Please place your donation in the envelope provided, write your name on the tag and hang it on the Christmas Tree. Money raised will go to the Drop In Centre in Larkhall.

This Saturday 8th December is the West of Scotland Salvation Army Carol Service in Kelvin Grove Art Gallery. Time is 7pm.

DALSERF CHURCH NEWS

Week Beginning 6th Dec 2018

Sunday Worship on 9th Dec will take place in Dalserf Church at 11.30am conducted by Revd John Stevenson. The choir will meet at 10.30am in Dalserf.

There will be a Carol Service in Dalserf Church on Sunday 9th Dec at 7.00pm. Local Choirs and Schools will take part. Proceeds will go to the Scottish Huntington’s Society. Refreshments will be served

Bible Study will meet on Monday 10th Dec in Hamilton Hall, Dalserf at 11.00am.
Girls’ Brigade also meet on Monday 10th Dec in Rorison Church Ashgill.

The Annual Christmas night with Kenny Mason and Friends will take place in Rorison on Wed 12th Dec at 7.15pm.Cost £5.00. Supper will be served. Tickets are available from guild members or on 01698 882499

The Gathering will meet in Hamilton Hall on Tuesday. Soup, tea and biscuits will be served. Please bring along any other snacks you may require.

Our Guild will meet on Wednesday in Rorison when the speaker will be Mr McCorrie Cal Mac

Our Guild Christmas Fayre took place yesterday and raised the fantastic sum of £1737.16
Grateful thanks go to everyone who worked hard to raise this amount.

The Nursing Homes will be visited on Friday. Starting with Clinton House at 1.45pm then Unit one Ballantine Court at 2.15pm and Unit two at 2.45pm. If you are able to join us for any or all of the above you will be made most welcome.

May Greenhill is still in Airbles Road Convalescent home. I visited her last Saturday. She is very confused but appears to be recovering well.

The Funeral of Dr Donald Hopkins will take place tomorrow at South Lanarkshire Crematorium at 11am.

Bible study will meet in Hamilton Hall tomorrow at 11am.

Our Girls Brigade will meet tomorrow night in Rorison

Our Guild Christmas Fayre will take place on Saturday 11am – 3pm. There will be the usual stalls, and donations for them, and also baking for the teas will be most welcome.

May Greenhill has had a bad fall. She has broken her leg and damaged her artificial hip. At present she is in Airbles Road Convalescent Home. I spoke to the family and unfortunately she is also suffering from Alzheimer’s. Can we please remember her in our prayers.

Payment is now due for the Bible reading notes “Every Day with Jesus” this is £17.00. Can you please place your payment in an envelope with your name and give to Ann Carson as soon as possible.

Intimations Sunday 11th November Remembrance Sunday

A warm welcome is extended to any visitors to our Remembrance service today. Soup, tea and coffee will be served in Hamilton Hall after the service and you are invited to join us for a short time of fellowship together. There will be a retiring offering after this service for the Earl Haig Fund.

It is with sorrow and regret that we have to intimate the death of Dr Donald Hopkins who sadly died on Tuesday. Our thoughts and prayers are with his wife Audrey and family. Funeral will take place on Monday 19th November at South Lanarkshire Crematorium at 11am.

Bible study will meet in Hamilton Hall tomorrow at 11am.

Our Guild will meet on Wednesday in Rorison when there will be a Practical evening with Anne Galloway.

A meeting which may interest the Congregation will take place in Dalziel St Andrew’s Church Motherwell on Thursday 15th November the details are below “GOOD HEALTH and WELLNESS for ALL. An evening with Sir Harry Burns on Thursday 15th November 7.30pm – 9.00pm

Christian Outreach Group in Crossford are sponsoring a Men’s Curry and Quiz night this Thursday in the Popinjay Hotel. If you are interested you are asked to make up teams of four. Cost is £5.00 per person. Guest speaker is Jim McDonald Christian Police Association.
