Homeless and Foodbank Collection

Thanks to everyone in Dalserf Church who donated money or items to give to those who don’t have anywhere to stay over Christmas. Special thanks and Anne and Iain McHolm for organising this. Final stop on the way to delivery was for tea, coffee etc. for the soup trolleys.

We have again been overwhelmed by the donations which the foodbank has received from everyone during 2019. These have come via supermarket trolley donations in the Co-op and Asda in Larkhall, Sainsbury’s in Strathaven and Tesco in Lesmahagow as well as regular and harvest donations from various local churches and businesses. Some schools have also given their harvest collections and then there are people who just knock our door and hand in their donations. You have all truly become like the Wise Men and followed the Star bringing your gifts and you have helped so many people in crisis. We pass on to you their grateful thanks for all your gifts throughout the year. God bless you all

Shoebox Appeal Report

On Sunday 32st October 44 shoe boxes for the Blytheswood Christmas Appeal were dedicated during the morning Service by Revd John Stevenson. The boxes were gifted by members of the Guild and Congregation.

These boxes are sent with our love and prayers to less fortunate men women and children in circumstances we can only imagine. Thanks to all who made the appeal such a success.

Harvest Lunch

We held a Harvest Lunch on Saturday 19th October in Hamilton Hall, Dalserf.
This was attended by 64 people. The excellent food was supplied, prepared and served by a team of ladies and gentlemen from the Church.

The amount raised was £1000. This will be shared by Kilbride Hospice and Rachel House.
We send this money to them with our thoughts and prayers for all within these hospices and those caring for them.

Many thanks to all who contributed in raising this great amount of money.
