Infant baptism is normally given only where at least one parent of the child is a church member. However, you may feel that although you are not at present a member, you are now interested in joining the church. A baptism may take place where a parent is seeking church membership. Another option is for a close family member to take the vows. Where parents are not ready yet to take vows of baptism yet another option is a service of blessing and thanksgiving to give thanks for the child and pray for it and the family. Our 'Infant Baptism Parent Response ' form will help you think the matter through further, whilst our 'Reflections on Infant Baptism' will provide more information.
